In a nutshell, what is Yurbook?

We make the traditional yearbook concept a lot more fun by letting you store, catalog and share the umpteen digital photos your school compiles every year. And while only a few will actually make it into the final yearbook, we open up all those other photos to members of your school community — students, staff, parents and alumni.

I’m a student. Can I share pictures with my friends?

Absolutely. That’s one of the reasons we created Yurbook. Not only can you share them, you can decide who sees them — just your circle of friends or the larger school community. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be able to see other people in your school who have Yurbook accounts. From there, if you have a Pro Subscription, you can select your friends from the list and they’ll be sent a request to add you to their shared contact list. If they say yes, you’ll then be free to share as many photos and comments as you like.

Who can access my school’s photo library?

Only the people your school’s yearbook administrator wants to be able to access them. When your school first signs up, the yearbook administrator at the school undergoes a verification process overseen by BackCheck. From that point on, your school’s chosen administrator is the gatekeeper of all users, who sees which photos and how.

What does Yurbook cost?

Joining Yurbook is free for your school. That free membership gives your school free general use of the site, storage of all your photos and storage of PDFs of each year’s yearbook. Basic membership is also free for students, staff, parents and alumni. Included in that basic membership is free viewing of low-resolution photos and a PDF of your school’s yearbook. An upgraded Pro Subscription is also available for students, parents, staff, alumni, etc. for US$29.95/year. This Pro Subscription allows you to download high-resolution photos and gives you the ability to upload and share photos you choose — you can even upload photos and mark them for submission to the yearbook staff for possible inclusion in the final yearbook.

How long will I be able to access my school’s online photo library?

While we legally can’t use the word “forever,” suffice it to say they’ll be here for you to download today, tomorrow and decades from now.

How do I know if my school has a Yurbook account or not?

When you go through the sign up process, you’ll be asked to select your school from your state or province’s pop-up menu. If you don’t see your school, that may mean it doesn’t have an account. So then what? Well, ask them to get one. It’s free for them to join and it’s safe for members to use. Point them to this web site or have them call us at 1-866-684-2088.

Can our school’s photos be printed on stuff other than the yearbook?

Absolutely. We make it easy for members to order smaller mini books filled with pictures of big school events like graduations, dances, etc as well as their favorite pictures printed on:
