Frequently Asked Questions
In a nutshell, what can Yurbook do for my school?
We take the headache out of the yearbook process by letting you store, catalog and share the umpteen digital photos your school compiles every year. And while only a few will actually make it into the final yearbook, we open up all those other photos to members of your school community — including eager parents who call wanting pictures of their kids. Depending on how you decide to print your final yearbook, we can also streamline the ordering and payment process (when you opt for digital printing vs. traditional offset) by allowing you to handle everything online where parents and students can order using a simple form and a credit card. This eliminates a lot of the traditional administrative headaches typically associated with yearbook creation.
Who can access my school’s photo library?
Only the people you want to be able to access them. When your school first signs up, the yearbook administrator at the school undergoes a verification process overseen by BackCheck. From that point on, your school’s chosen administrator is the gatekeeper of all users, who sees which photos and how. A unique access code can even be given to students, staff, parents and alumni of each year’s class — at your school’s discretion.
Kids will be kids. What about inappropriate photos?
Our built-in flagging system makes it easy for members to report questionable content to your school’s administrator. From there, it’s up to you whether to remove the content or even disable the member’s account.
Once our school uploads photos, how long will we be able to access them?
While we legally can’t use the word “forever,” suffice it to say they’ll be here for you to download today, tomorrow and decades from now.
So does Yurbook actually print our school’s yearbook?
Only if you want us to. Some schools see printing their yearbook with us as a natural extension to storing their photos and are happy to let us handle printing for them. Others have established relationships and a system for printing which they’d rather not mess with. We’re fine either way.
If our school decides to have Yurbook print our yearbook, what are our options?
There are a range of printing options available for schools of all sizes — from short-runs for smaller schools to large print runs for colleges and universities. Typically, digital 4-color printing (which uses no “plates” like traditional offset printing) makes sense when smaller quantities and/or quick turnarounds are needed; these digitally printed yearbooks can be up to 80 pages with a hard cover or up to 732 pages with a soft cover. As for traditional offset printing, we offer highly competitive pricing with fantastic quality (minimum print run is 300 yearbooks). For more detail about pricing or printing tailored specifically for your school, just contact us.
Can our school’s photos be printed on stuff other than the yearbook?

- Photo prints
- Photo books
- Posters
- Postcards
- Stickers
- Canvas prints
